I've had this one on my list for a long time, I actually got the anime in all its japanese glory. And I tried to watch it, I did, I put forth my best effort, but I'm not strong enough. I started to fidget, and started missing more and more of the sub titles.. I gave up. The voices were amazing though, I just with I knew what they were saying! In any case I found it online at dubhappy.com and have been watching it there. I'm on episode 9, almost done.

It's pretty good, though I am curious about of few things. But I'll leave those things to a forum, no spoilers here! Also I remember I once said no horribly long reviews lol. Ok on to the normally scheduled programming.

Hey Vamp fans, this is an on going Manga. This is good news (don't sigh at me, yes it is) at least it hasn't died, been put on hiatus, or gotten lost, or compleltely abandoned like many of its kind.

Ok weird. Apparently this was available to stream (the dubbed version) before the DVDs were. However before all the dub madness Season one came out in 5 volumes in japan. The first and last Vol have 2epis all the ones in between have 3. They did the same to Season two. Is it just me who finds this weird?

Anyway, like I said you can get Season 1 13 epis online, but you can only buy the first 4 on DVD. Again, weird! I'm not sure how many volumes there will be since Vol. 1 has already doubled its japanese counter part.

There are 2 drama CDs, and I'm going to divulge a secret right here and now: I'm sorry everyone, but I do not know what a drama CD is!! What is it? Is it like a radio theater? Kinda like a book on CD but with actors and stuff? Please help!

Moving on, there are a few light novels, I would read these LAST!! They were created by Matsuri Hino and Ayuna Fujisaki and were published in Japan by Hakusensha in 2008. Both novels feature two individual side-stories that use the characters of the manga, but are not specifically based on chapters from the series. The first novel, Vampire Knight: Ice Blue's Sin Vanpaia Naito: Aisu Burū no Tsumi?), was published on April 5, 2008. The first story within the novel looks at events that occurred at Cross Academy in the year preceding Yuuki's arrival, while the second story details an accident that occurred while Zero was still in training to be a vampire hunter.

The second novel, Vampire Knight: Noir's Trap, Vanpaia Naito: Nowāru no Wana?), was published on October 3, 2008. It details some of the Cross Academy romances, as well as detailing the accident that happened when Kain and Ruka go to visit Shiki and Rima's modeling studio.

I completely recommend the series. Enjoy :D I'll be back to update later.

Evenings Greetings and Salutations!

Have you missed me? Ya ya, don't get all mushy, I missed you too. I just figured you'd want me to focus on updating entries or making more. Which I have been, in a manner of speaking. This however wont take me long, I just thought I'd update ya on a few things.

Namely that I am still in the market for an assistant :D I love my Lox, but he's pursuing a much more prestigious goal in life and has little time for blogging and research. He's still our beloved pervert-adventurer and all around narcissistic good guy, who still watches Anime; he's just hoping to trade in his collared shirts with fatigues (or whatever the Swedish military calls their uniforms) And this we support him in.

Moving along. I want to apologize to a few people who I'm sure have come here thinking I'd done a post on Vampire Knight. I'm here to say, it's in the process, but it has nearly killed me trying to get proper info!

It should be simple! Not like Bleach or Pokemon or One Piece (I've slightly poked at Bleach but ran away screaming. Not from the show, the show is awesome. But holy never ending bio-batman )

I am soooo freaking sorry!! I didn't notice I hadn't updated!! IT"S OUT PEOPLE!! Dubbed and ready to be loved. OMGOSH! I love this show soo much, it's so dark and dramatic and amazing! You love and hate people time and time and time again! Mostly just the same person, but you go back and forth. Anyway, I shall update now.

This is, in almost majority. Crap. It's basically a retelling of the series, with a few "new" clips added. These clips apparenlty aren't all that great, and are more or less redundant.

I'm going to preface this with one world:

LOVES!!

I have VERY little to say about this show but.. I'm excited to say that Funi has picked them UP! And will be dubbing them, however I think they wont be released until late 2010.

So heres the deal Peeps. Hetalia started as an awesome webcomic (thats translated btw, sorry guys I appreciate the Japanese culture, and I understand you guys love the subs vs the dubs, but I don't speak Japanese, and I like voice actors ok?!)

They have been published in two Volumes by Gentosha Comics and there was rumor that seinen manga magazine Comic Birz but that was a misunderstanding. So I'm thinking it hasn't come out in US yet. :(

I got a little confused when it comes to the Anime. I KNOW there are two 26 eps seasons, but I think there might be a third. Funi has the rights to release two of the season, but they just announced that on the 8th of this month.. so like I said.. not until LATE 2010 will we see any of the spoils

I guess there is ALSO a movie, it was announced Sept. 23rd '09 and is scheduled to come out in 2010 sometime :D Love how they are soo specific.. LOVE IT I SAY!!

There is nothing out in America yet, and I sadly only pay attention to that.. sorry folks. But really I can't search for the others in different languages because..I'd get confused really quickly. So I'lll just leave you with the website from Funi and... a really cute picture!

There are no Vol. 1 &2 because the episodes, I kid you not, are like 5-10 mins long. All 26 are here. You aren't missing anything. But if you are used to fast forwarding the opening credits and ending credits to get to the next bit, don't bother, they aren't very long either, and are fun to sing along too. (Off topic, I have a tradition of always listening to the full opening and ending credits for every anime I watch.. then I usually just skip them. Unless I really really like it. Like Last Exile.)

The Second season has been dubbed too but it doesn't come out until Oct 26.. I know it's to keep the Hype going so people buy more.. but seriously people, you're killing me!!

Trigun (Anime, Manga, Movie)

Yasuhiro Nightow submited Trigun to the Tokuma Shoten magazine Shōnen Captain and began regular serialization later until 1997 when the magazine bit the dust. However magazine Young King Ours, published by Shōnen Gahōsha, offered him a spot with a new series, though he felt bad about leaving Trigun unfinished, so they let him continue it with: Trigun: Maximum. Which is set two years later, a bit on the serious side, perhaps due to the switch from a shōnen to a seinen magazine. Nightow has said the change in name is only because of the change in publishing, it is not a sequel, but a continuation.

Ok Vash fans, pretty much everyone on Amazon reviews LOVES this show. They rank it right up there with Cowboy Bebop and stuff :D So you know its good. I have watched the first three episodes, and so far.. it's ok. Our discs are being stupid so we haven't watched anymore, but from reading all the glowing praise I want to!

(( There is a Trigun remix, it's the same song and dance, only there are more epis per disc so there are fewer Vols. Also they amped up the sound to 5.1, and each opening is slightly different. Also theres are diff covers, and slightly different extras. It's recommend for first time buyers to get this set, but in all honestly it probably doesn't matter.))

It was licensed in the United States by Pioneer USA (now Geneon). However, Funimation Entertainment rescued it after Geneon USA closed its doors in 2007. Funi will be re-releasing the DVD and Blu-ray in the fall of 2010.

Nightow has stated that due to the finality of the anime ending, it is unlikely any continuation will be made. However, that doesn't rule out the possibility of a reboot based on Trigun Maximum. This statement makes me think that the 26 Epis are all based on the first 3 manga vols, but I have found nothing to prove my theory.

Hellsing: Anime & Manga VAMPIRES!!

If you weren't in love with Alocard in Castlevania then you will be now. I watched the first disc last night (all 3 episodes *shaking fist*). At first I was a little iffy about it, Hellsing is much darker.. and uglyier (compaired to Fruits Basket it is ugly!) then what I normally watch, however unlike my sister I get past the animation and focus on the story and the characters. And now currenlty searching for the rest of this story! There are 13 episodes, and they don't follow the plot of the Manga, not much anyway. So it really doesn't matter which order you watch it in, because they don't follow each other. But they do have the same characters, so thats helpful.

Ok now I may or may not watch the Hellsing OVA more of less for the reason below:

So I didn't read my own review befor watching the OVA, I did watch it. Or at least I think I watched the OVA. I know I watched all of the 13 episodes, which rocked. Then my final disc had more on it.. but it was pretty much exactly what I just watched, however the animation was different and it was compressed, they pretty much took out a lot of the irrelavant details and just hit you with the raw story. I was MAYJORLY confused, so I came here. And to my surprise.. kinda.. I didn't have any of the info I needed. BAD Stone!! So heres what I found out. There will be 7 volumes of OVA, Funi has it now and they just released the 4th one Sept. '08 the next three don't have release dates. BUT they are alllll out in Japan.. so if you can't wait start those search engines up and get some fan subs.

I also found out that the OVA follows the Manga more then the other one.. which explains the similarities! I guess I'll have to read the Manga to really find out huh? *sigh* So much to do.

The first Kanon magna was serialized in MediaWorks' manga magazine Dengeki Daioh The individual chapters were later collected into two separate volumes. There are six chapters in total, three in each volume. This manga is different than the visual novel in that three of the girls stories are not told in their entirety. Near the end of each of these girls' stories were originally intended to give the viewer the remaining answers, but the manga version ends these girls' stories prematurely. Because it focused to much on main girls story. I tell you I love google!! (sarcasim) I can't find the physical books ANYWAY but I do have my choice of 1,569 sites that have in on down load!

K so studio Toei Animation came out with a 13 episode Anime for Kanon in 2002 as well as a OVA called Kanon Kanahaza. I can't find it anywhere to buy, and found a few snips saying it was never released in the US, so you might have to go searching via less conventional means if you really want it. However in 2006 Kyoto Animation did a new adaptation of Kanon, so you shouldn't miss much. ADV picked it up for a while then it was transfered to Funi.

Last Exile (Anime)

A friend recommend we watch this, and lucky for us it was available to stream off of netflix! So after my futile search for season 3 of Kyo Kara Maoh, I was able to rebound with this awesome show, that very night.

Unlike some it starts in the heat of the plot, no back story (that comes later) that drags for episodes. However they sorta had no choice, well I guess they did, we all do. But considering there are only 26 episodes, they had to stream line it well to get maximum potential.

I'm on the 13th episode and LOVE it so far, awesome animation, music, characters, story and music! (I know I said music twice)

So there's no Manga, or Novel, just the 26 episodes, and some sound tracks (which I will be looking for) There is a rumor about a live action, but haven't seen much about that.

You know, theres been a time or two that I've wanted to just give up on this blog. I don't see it as I used to, and I haven't had time to update it as much as I want. But then, there comes a time when I need it. Last night was one of those, I finally got around to watching most of Kyo Kara Moah! I tell you what, the show takes forever to get going, but when it does, man have the next disc ready. Which brings me to the site. Season two ends on one dilly of a cliff, and there is no Season three in english, or available to buy with subs, though I wouldn't do that anyway Official subs suck. What there is, and what I may resort to, are fan subs. I'll keep a record of how I find them if anyone wants them, but I'm not posting them sorry.

Do I rock or what! So that means I will keep this site going, and now that my novel (yes thats what kept me away) is finished, I can give this site the attention it deserves. In fact I started a new Anime last night that I have to do some research on, and like always I'll share my findings. It's called Last Exhile, I'm on episode 9 and so far it's pretty awesome, granted for the majority of the fifth and sixth episode I was wikiepidaing all of the voice actors. What can I say, I have a Voice actor fetish. And guess whose on this one? The Gorgeous Crispin Freeman, he ranks right up ther with Chris Patton.

Ok on to my next post. Oh and be on the look out for a new Poll, I've decided to try that again.

City Hunter

Right. So, I figured it's time I earn my upkeep by doing a review of an anime over here. And guess what I choose? A classic that I grew up with (Amber says: "That explains A LOT..."), and which I consider one of the world's three greatest animes, EVER. It's a true classic, an 80's anime of the perfect genre crossbreeding: Action, romance, ecchi (that's pervertedness for y'all non-otakus out there), and more ecchi. In other words, I give you all, the one, the only, the legendary, City Hunter. (That's Shitihanta for all you Japanese people out there.)

The main character is Ryo Saeba, a "sweeper" (private detective/mercenary/hitman/assassin/vigilante) in the Tokyo underworld. Ryo have four major crosses to bear; 1, he loves women. 2, he loves women's underwear. 3, he loves to peep at women when they take a bath, and usually, he tries to do more than just peep on them, which leads us to number 4, he also loves a little something that he calls "mokkori". To keep this clean, I won't say what it is (though I will say, a simple search on Wikipedia can inform you of it), but I'm certain you can guess already. "Mokkori" happens to be Ryo's battle cry whenever he attempts to pick up a beautiful woman, or steal her underwear. ("Waow, mokkori brassiere!").

But!
That's where his partner, the female tomboy Kaori Makimura, comes into the picture. Whenever Ryo tries to woo one of their clients (and being that Ryo only accepts contracts from beautiful women, that happens every time), vóila, she's there with a 100 ton hammer, smashing his head in with tremendous force and fury. She's really a scary woman, considering she's the only one who ever get the drop on the legendary City Hunter.

So, anyways, what you have is action, romance, heartwarming stories in every episode, and all of it in a typical 80's package accompanied by an incredible soundtrack. It stands to reason that this series is really one of the best that has ever been made. Quite obviously. And if you decide to read the manga, be prepared to realize that the series, which is quite perverted in its own right, pales in comparison to the manga, drawn by the genius mangaka Tsukasa Hojo.

Unfortunately, though, the manga is a rarity these days. Even on the net where piracy seems to be able to get you everything, it fails here. You can only, via fan-translations, get your hands on the mangas up to chapter 32. This is, as opposed to volume 32, which always confused me, but are two different things. You may think that you can still buy the manga, even if you have to buy it legally from Ebay, or somesuch. But the sad truth of the matter is, the manga has never been translated to English past chapter 32. And I dare say if you really want to read the manga you would have to speak and read fluent Japanese, and also live in Japan, to be able to track it down.

The series, however, is more than capable of standing on its own as one of the greatest animes of all times. So, with that in mind, get your butt out there, find it, and ACQUIRE IT, by any means necessary! Until the day you have seen the City Hunter anime, I daresay your life is 69 percent un-lived.

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle (Anime)

I really like this series. In fact it inspired me to create clay Mokonas :D I'll have to post a picture they are WAY cute.

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle is an on going manga series by Clamp. It is currently being serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine. It takes place in the same fictional universe as many of Clamp's other manga series including xxxHolic, Cardcaptor Sakura, Legal Drug, Angelic Layer, X, Chobits, Magic Knight Rayearth and Tokyo Babylon.

SOOooo, This series I would like to link to XXXholic although you don't have to watch either in order. Though I would suggest watching Holic first that way you will appreciate and understand Yokos involvement and her brief cameo. But the stories are COMPLETLEY different, neither effect the other they just cross paths from time to time.. well ok ONCE so far in the Anime, I have yet to read the Manga. Also apparently its the same for Chobits and Cardcaptor, I haven't seen Cardcaptor but I have seen Chobits and I didn't see any links, though I also haven't seen season two.

As my newest Author announced yes I am changing my name. Have changed it actually. Why? Well T.W.I.G.G. or The way it goes Girl, was never my favorite OR my first choice. It was a rather hasty decision and I just didn't have time to change it. Besides it kinda works.

The name I've been going by for quiet sometime now is Stone~Amber, please call me Stone or any variation of that. (ie: Stoney)

On to business: I would like to welcome Loxely to my growing army of Anime Archaeologist's. Hopefully now there will be more shows uncovered for you all soon. I would like to take this time however to remind Lox that he is here to pimp Anime, not himself :P

I've wanted to do this one for a long time, and have had it as a draft for months. But never once did I actually look into it. So finally I do and realize it's not what I thought it was, not the norm of what I've posted. 5 Centimeters Per Second is not a anime, but it's also not one cohesive film, instead it's a collection of three short episodes depicting the life and growth of the main character from elementary school, to high school, to the workforce.

Either way you're still getting it because I say so.

I personally can't wait to watch this. My sister has and loved it to bits, as well as most commentors on Amazon. The only problem it seemed any one had was that the film seems to be soaked in sap, and then apparently it missed the sap bath completely and was left dry and lifeless.. Lets all chalk this up to "everyones different" and call it square huh?

Theres a light novel of 5 Centimeters Per Second however so far its only sold in Japanese markets. It includes stories that are not featured in the anime though.. so.. if you have connections go for it.

Naruto (Anime, Manga)

Alright, this is my first time doing this so please bear with me if I get anything wrong. : )

Anyway, many of you probably know of Naruto from Cartoon Network. From what I've seen, Naruto is one of the most popular anime/manga in America right now or at least in my area. It is written by Masashi Kishimoto and published by VIZ Media LLC. The story revolves around a lone young ninja trying to make himself known by becoming the leader of his village. I personally have watched and read this, and I can easily say there is a reason it is so popular. It may start off slow for some, but it quickly picks up. Naruto is a VERY long story, and is still going on. The 28th manga actually starts a time skip in the story, but they have yet to reach that point in the anime in America.

The anime in Japan has actually gotten past the time skip, renaming it Naruto: Shippuden. Hopefully, that will be coming to the U.S. soon, so we can skip all the filler that they put in after what would be after number 27 of the manga and before number 28.

K this was a mite tricky because the storyline crosses over with a few other CLAMP series (Clamp is a manga group) The most notable are: Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle which was written in tandem with it, and Cardcaptor Sakura, whose history it draws on at several points.

There are 13 and counting Manga Volumes. The Anime was produced by a couple companies and so doesn't stay quiet on point with the Plot. So to combate confussion I'd read that first. I didn't however and still liked the Anime anyway. Liked it a LOT actually and will now be reading the books (I think Aaron already has been, he might be able to shine a bit more on to this then I can)

Oh by the by, its pronounced 'Holic' you don't have to say all those X's

Novel Time! There are 6 Novels in total, but I can't FIND 'EM Sorry I'll keep trying.

6 Anime Episodes were adapted from the first novel. Then from the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th Novels 7 more Episodes were pulled from various chapters, and are interspersed between the other 6. Now Episode 9 was written specifically for the Anime by the auther of the novels.

Couldn't have made it more confusing huh?!

UPDATE: Found 'em Found 'em! I have found the novels! Well kinda. Now don't go getting cranky on me Littl Brown Books for Young Readers, and Yen Press have picked up the label and will be releasing them, the first one is out, the rest, well the rest just aren't. The tenth I don't even think is out in Japan yet, its an on going series.

K I keept finding mixed reviews: That Vol 1 is already out (Jan 4 09 or October!) or that it will be released April 2009, I'll keep you posted.

Honestly cutest show I've seen in the LONGEST TIME! This show is baised off of a Book Series by Natsuki Takaya, unfortunately for a lot of us the Show is only threw book 6, personally I ran to the library and fast!

Anywho all of them are out in Japan, and for the clever websurfer you can find the books AND translation.. for the MORE cleverer you can find both of them together, I'm not so clever I had two diff web pages, a little difficult but it worked and let me tell you I have never NEVER finished a story so very satisfied! And I have read a LOT, I laughed and cried.. mostly cried at the end Totally a NoteBook cry though. If you will only read one Manga this year or EVER read this one. Unless of course you like fighting and war then do us a favor, put the book down and skip to the Adventure Section of Barns N' Noble, cause I don't want to hear you complain that there isn't enough blood, guts, or Mecha on some fan page(there is however a suprising abundance of blood in this story though..)

Personal Note: Like most Books-gone-to-movie they have left some stuff out, not much but if you want a little extra Zodiac love I'd read all the books, I know I have :)

However I've done some research on it already because my friend bought it for me and its in Japanese with English subs. I didn't want to open it until I found out if I could get it dubed in English. You can't at least not right now, though Funimation has picked it up and is in the process of Dubing it, though it will be a while yet before its out. I'll keep you posted:

I LOVE IT!!! I'm in love. This Anime has gone beyond all my expectations. It must have been fate that made me pick this Manga Vol. 1, because I was at the store to get Ouran High School Host Club Vol. 3 for my sisters Christmas present, here is where Fate stepped in: There wasn't a single OHSHC on their vast Manga shelves! What they did have was The Wallflower -and an abundance of Fruits Basket but she owns all of them, as do I- So I picked it up.. and proceeded to read. I had to get over the fact that these boys look suspisciously like girls, it wasn't hard though the story ROCKS! So after gifting an already read book I went out and got the second, loving it even MORE!

Courtesy of my charming and awefully helpful blog I knew that there was a corresponding Anime to this Manga Masterpiece. if I hadn't already been in love the Anime would have done it! 4 of the 5 voice actors are tops favorites of mine (not that I dislike the 5th I just haven't heard him before.. to my knowledge) and they've brought the story to LIFE! The screaming the crying... the love!!

Hey all Just found out that all 26 have not be released in the US. Volumes(lessons) 1-3 were produced and released by ADV Films but then the license was switched and now Funi has it. Funimation will be releasing the Vols1-3 again in 1/20/2009 then will be releasing the rest. If you don't mind the wait I highly recommend watching Season One (as they call it), if you DO mind waiting I recommend watching this show STILL and advise you go get the Manga Oh Impatent Ones. Not sure when Season 2 will be coming out. As I said above I'm in love so I promise I'll keep you posted!

I really really REALLY want to watch this show, however there may be a little... Guy-lov'in so for if your not in to that let this ease your mind:

This Anime has been added to my top 10 ranking in at #4 after Fruits Basket, Oruan High, and Full Metal Panic.

This show has succeeded in something that no other anime has.

It made me cry.

Now you can find Tragic love in almost all Anime but none of them quit make it like this. These characters had CHEMESTY real live emotions, that tuged and tore at my heart strings. I still can't believe it happened personally, the story was a bit rapetative, and i didn't think they fleshed the characters out enough for me to care, espeically our heroin. But man a live i'm still fighting back bouts of "WHY!!!!" Even with all that they ended the story magnificantly, it was semi-pradictable, though most stories are now adays, but I found closure and loved it even more for that.

Some where someone thought it would be funny to wreck almighty havoc with the releasing of these 26 Episodes. There are ONLY 26 Episodes, even though there's a movie, and "remakes" and lots of released Neon Gensis stuff. There are ONLY 26 Episodes you will not glean any more information for any of the following DVDs. OK I lied a bit, you will get a smidgen, a SMIDGEN of more information but its not worth the redundant madness that you will have to endure.

Why do I stress there are only 26 episodes, because lets face it, I'm being redundant and blatantly obvious. They re-did episodes 21-24 and 25 and 26 like thirty different times, a-n-d n-o-t-h-i-n-g c-h-a-n-g-e-d!

They did however release all of their "remakes" as NEW, let me tell you they aren't, theres like .5% new with them and the rest of the 99.5% isn't worth watching again, and again...

Just trust me Watch the 26 Normal Episodes and you'll be ahead of the game. However if you must and I mean you better be DIEING (literally) to watch these; Rent and/or Netflix them do NOT pay good hard cash for them, and still only watch the Movie: The End of Evengalion.

You know its kinda not fair! There is a reason that it is one of the classics, the beginning is phenomenal! So is the middle and your just an inch away from fast forwarding the whole thing so you can have more Eva goodness!! The Ending though, the ending kills the show, LITERALLY KILLS THE SHOW (and no one survives..)
I was once in raptures about this show, now it makes me want to hid under my bed and cry. I don't know why or how they decided their ending made sense, all they did was open another can of worms, no one taught them to put their toys away once they were finished before pulling out more. They lost most of their fan base after it came out. Its not really a wonder they had funding problems...

If your just worried about the story your not missing anything when getting different "Collections" you just wont get the same extras, thats all there is to it.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - Death & Rebirth The first part, Death, is an hour-long re-edit of the first 24 episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion. New scenes were added to the film, which were eventually added in to the television show itself in the "Director's Cut" versions of episodes 21 through 24 which were released in the Japanese LaserDisc release and the Platinum Collection DVD release

Death was re-edited twice (told ya). The first edit was Death(true), which removed the new scenes and was shown with Rebirth on the Japanese Network WOWOW. The second edit was Death(true)², which reincorporated the image of Adam on Gendo Ikari's hand, and had several scenes taken out. Death(true)² was the cut attached to Revival of Evangelion, the final edit of the Evangelion movies, as well as the video release of Death and Rebirth.

The second part, Rebirth, consists of an entirely new animation and storyline which follows episode 24, and is a remake (wow another one) of the final two episodes of the television series 25 and 26. Due to time constraints, the new animation wasn't fully completed when the movie was released and only the first 27 minutes out of the total 40 minutes were shown in Rebirth. Originally, Rebirth was intended to include episodes 25 and 26, which were later released as the The End of Evangelion movie. Four months later, The End of Evangelion movie, the second Evangelion movie, featured the complete Rebirth animation, which was released as "Episode 25: Air", and "Episode 26: My Purest Heart for You (Sincerely Yours)".

I've heard this is a mix of Ghost in the Shell and Witch Hunter Robin. Since I've only seen 5 episodes Witch Hunter Robin, and only heard stories about Ghost in the Shell I can't say much, but I'm very interested for one reason: The animation! Its supposed to ROCK 3D CG, sounds awesome..., and the voice actors aren't that bad either :0) I love me some voice actors (Chris your still my fav though)

THERE ARE 3 DIFFERENT ADAPTATIONS: Mostly they all are the same story, however things such as names, situations, roles, and people, have either been removed, altered, rearranged, or changed in some way.

If you want order, the Novel would be the one for you, being that it is the Original brains behind the other two. The Novel came first (written By:Sunao Yoshida) then it was adapted into a Manga which later was followed by the Anime Series.

The artwork also differs from all three versions, as the character designs were each created by different artists.

I do have to add though that the Author Died, and his friend has continued it, or at least is in the process which could explain why I can't find the remaining novels and manags for sale anywhere

I JUST BOUGHT THIS ONE finally!! NOW I HAVE TO WATCH IT AND I CAN UPDATE IT!

Hurray for Rune Soldier and Total Randomness!! This is the third Anime ever that I wanted,"took ya long enough!" I agree, but I have to admit it was worth the wait. Now as weird as it sounds I can't find this show in anything other then its Complete Collection. Which is probably best its not very long and would get lost if seperated.. probably. In anycase this is definately one you'll at least want to watch if not add to your collection, which I totally recommend, it brings HOURS of mindless enjoyment.

Just started to watch this one, and again I was given it via a burned disc. Which makes me happy and unhappy at the same time, you see my wonderful friend -who is actually the one who introduced me to the Anime world- doesn't know which ones I'll like and not like, and where this one is a much darker show then I usually watch, he didn't want to get the whole thing and not have me like it, same goes for Hellsing, I only got the first disc, which is fine with me. Now why I'm unhappy is because I LIKE them now I have to go get the rest :) which means I have to do a search and see what IS next. And like always will I'm doing my own research I thought I'd let you all know as well!!

This show was totally handed to me as a burned disc! It wasn't even the whole Series, it was only Eps 1-4 which I think was pretty rude. Namely because I LOVED IT and now I have to go searching for the REST of it! But once I did its completely worth the wait!! Totally histerical and fun. Again my favorite voice actors brought together Chris Paton, and Luci Christain, and a new favorite Jessica Boone.

Or just FIND OUT the hard way, like me.

I'm going to tell you a story about a Anime that was tossed into my lap and labled as good as Fruits Basket. Now if that doesn't shut my mouth and have the DVD in sooner then ASAP I don't don't know what will (possibly A Dark Chocolate Cherry Truffle from Rocky Mountain chocolate Factory, that'd shut me up, but I don't know where the DVD comes in) So as I said I popped it in and off it went... 8 hours later I'm done (a couple days encompased those 8 hours, I do have a life) So I'm here to tell you, its not like Fruits Basket at all, aside from being Anime.

Example:Boobs play a BIG role in Ai Yori Aoshi where as the Male cast of Fruits Basket turn in to Animals of the Chinesse Zodiac when given significant body contact, oh yea and they turn BRIGHT RED with big emotion icons off the side of thier heads and run away (or look off the screen blankly) when anything pervers is mentioned -I love you Shigure-

Its like compairing Mango Chicken with a T-bone Stake, both are TOTALLY good, stakes just better, and more expensive. I do like the show though give it two thumbs up, 4 golden stars, and all the cookies I have.

I got the pleasure of watching a friend of mine mimick one of the characters of this show, after I stopped laughing my head off I went in search for this Anime. It looks like the cuttest show EVER! Honestly, its an all girl cast (making the mimick that much better because my friends a boy) and apparently there aren't any ucky boys to make drama, so its just cute cute cute!! its also not very long so incase you DON'T like it STOP WATCHING IT.

And you wont be disappointed! Its TOTALLY cute and friggin amazing. However the mimick didn't even give justic to the actual act. I was rolling (litterally!!) on the floor for hours afterward *~Cooking is so FUN!~* heehee.. LOL I gotta go watch it again, Later!

FINISHED! Great GREAT show! I have heard complaints about the English dub, but I liked it! I tried watching it in Japanese and thought the guys voice was a girl and it confused the heck outta me for a long time so I personally recommend watching the dub -you have the choice in case you really can't stand it-.

Banner of the Stars III: OVA -K now this OVA is only 2 episodes long. Basically it closes all things left open; however I got very little out of it, (I'll shall watch it again) You see they didn't dub it, you have to watch it in English -or chinese- Subs (thats would be subtitles) and i kept missing whole sentenses and didn't catch on to what was happening in the show because I was to busy reading! Now I'm a quick reader but MAN they talk fast.

I should have known from the the menu -which is curiously all in Japanese- so I hadn't a clue what even PLAY was let alone Set Up/Languages thus I watched the show with chinese subs japanese subs and without subs for a good hour before I found the english subs. I know I'm pathetic.

I do appologise that I can NOT find Banner III online to buy like I said before my Humping Buddy (thats for you Al) bought it, I didn't even know there was a 3rd even with my extensive knowledge!! -lol- I'll keep looking though. I have The Perfect Collections, which are basically the Complete Collections so don't worry if you buy the Complete Collection or The Perfect one your not missing out on anything.

Ha HA! I've finally watched this, accompanied by my darling hubby. Its official this is one of my FAVORITES!! Totally histerical! Its story is original (to me, i have yet to watch all anime) so I wasn't bored, however you can still guess what happens a couple times, which is fine with me, I hate suspense. Hubby really liked it too!

So I know I don't give reviews, but I think I'll break my rule this once.. So its about two worlds that live entirely without the other sex "Men are from Marz and Women are from Venus" literally.. well not those planets exactly I can't remember what their respective planets were called. So some how..(no spoiling here) guys and girls get combined in to one ship. The guys have to face facts that girls aren't really monsters who eat men, and the girls get to see a softer, real, actually nice and helpful side of men. Needless to say a lot of miscommunition and misunderstandings abound. Sexual Innuendos go completely unnoticed, and they bring a whole new meaning to "No good deed goes unpunished" its great!

Not long though which really tee'd me off, granted I wish most of my favorites stories would never end, but lets face it, they all can't be Pokemon.

Hands down this is my favorite Anime Movie. Disney Joined Hayao Miyazaki to create this WONDERFUL Feature film. It gets better! This movie is baised on a Story written by Diana Wynne Jones. Both are wonderful though when put back to back they are practically differnt stories. What you need to do is enjoy each on its own level, if you have to don't even think of them as the same thing. I've done this with a couple books-made-it-big-in-show-biz example: Stardust by: Neil Gaiman recently a box office hit!

AVON CALLING! Honestly the most nonsensical show yet. Yes these People Hunt and Strip Elves. Don't worry they are just looking for spell fragments that may or may not have been tattooed on a body part of yours. Completely Histerical, a little repetitive, and just plain fun.

I just finished watching all three seasons MAN what a GREAT show! However its end it FAR to open for my taste! So I did some searching apparnelty this one started as a Manga with 9 volumes, Full Metal Panic is volumes 1-7 and Full Metal Panic:The Second Raid is volume 8-9 or at least thats what I've figured out, There are Little side stories Full Metal Panic!: Comic Mission is 5 volumes, it is a parallel series. 'Volume 10: Nick of Time' is out and does finish it up so I'll have to go grab that. Sorry If i've confused you,

Whats Up!

So if you haven't noticed yet this blogs purpose is to give directions in ways of reading books or watching show in Order, aka Beginning to End. I have spent the last 2 years searching the web over trying to find books to read and Animes to watch, only to find a Super fantastic show or book with 80 volumes, or book sequince that I can't follow or place in order! I once read a whole series the wrong way round and by the time I got to the first book it was no longer nail bitting nor edge of the seat thrilling. I knew they survived, how else could their children have saved them three books back?

I am just starting this blog so bare with me, there aren't many "directions" as yet. Also I suppose I should specify when I say "shows" I mean Anime shows, they incidently are what have driven me to do this. They seem to be the most problematic, however I will add whatever I feel needs to be. I will also added other shows on request, heaven knows there are more books and shows out there then I can ever watch in a single life time, though I'm doing my best.
